Trayanova paper featured on cover of Biophysical Journal

August 5, 2010

“Distribution of Electromechanical Delay in the Heart: Insights from a Three-Dimensional Electromechanical Model” by V. Gurev, J. Constantino, J. J. Rice, and N. A. Trayanova was published in and featured on the cover of Biophysical Journal.

The picture on the laptop screen shows the heterogeneous spatial distribution of the electromechanical delay during sinus rhythm (left) and after epicardial pacing (right) in a model of rabbit ventricular electromechanics. The background of the cover picture shows the Infiniband switches of the new IBM cluster at ICM on which the simulations were executed.
