BME PhD students win top prize at Yale Consulting Case Competition

July 19, 2012

Four BME PhD students were part of the winning team at the recent Yale Consulting Case Competition. Deborah Castillo, Jason Constantino, Aggy Djamanakova, Lisa Huang (Post-doc in the JHU Department of Human Genetics) and William Tam beat out 21 teams from Harvard, MIT, Cornell, Yale, Princeton, and Columbia to win the top prize. The week-long competition concluded on July 13 in New Haven. Competing teams recommended an entrance strategy for a global consumer fast-food company’s expansion into Ghana.

Similar to other graduate consulting case competitions, the Yale Graduate Case Competition introduces advanced degree candidates to the world of business and consulting. These competitions are stepping stones for helping students transition to other healthcare-related positions in private equity, venture capital, biotechnology and pharmaceutical companies.
