My lab is interested in the auditory system, focusing on detection and analysis of the auditory system, rehabilitation engineering and auditory neuroscience. Using modern signal processing methods, we detect signals from auditory peripheral, auditory nerve, and auditory central, to investigate the mechanisms and circuits underlying the auditory pathway, and attempt to develop objective methods with pinpoint accuracy to auditory diseases.
- We systematically investigated hearing sensitivity and frequency selectivity by exploring the characteristic of the OAE and suppression tuning curves, designed original instrument and won Silver Medal in 45th International Exhibition of Inventions of Geneva, 2017 and Gold Medal in 2017 China invention innovation competition.
- In addition, we also developed the debugging platforms, speech encoding strategies suitable for Mandarin tones, and improved front-end speech enhancement algorithms for cochlear implant (CI) to improve CI user’s speech discrimination rates. We designed novel instrument and won Gold Medal in 2017 Beijing invention innovation competition and Silver Medal in 2017 China invention innovation competition.
- Recently, based on frequency-following response (FFR), mismatch negativity (MMN), middle latency potential (MLP), auditory steady state (ASSR), and functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI), we are studying the processing mechanism of auditory central on different stimuli and background noise, and exploring to establish the objective evaluation approach on speech discrimination rates for CI user.
