The Whitaker Biomedical Engineering Institute and the Department of Biomedical Engineering provide Audio/Visual resources to members of the Institute, and the Department (hereafter referred to as WBMEI and BME, respectively), to support research, instruction, and administration in the WBMEI and BME.
Facilities and Equipment
The WBMEI has 2 multipurpose rooms available for seminars, lectures, meetings, and other events. WBMEI and BME members may schedule the Rome Room (Clark 110), or the Talbot Library (Traylor 709), for seminars, lectures, meetings, etc. See scheduling procedures for instructions.
There are other smaller conference rooms that belong to centers within the WBMEI or BME. These center conference rooms generally have either a ceiling-mounted LCD projector, or access to a portable LCD projector. You will need to contact the respective center administration to reserve those facilities and to ascertain what A/V equiment is available. See Contacts below.
The Rome Room and the Talbot Library are equipped with the following presentation equipment:
Ceiling-mounted LCD projector for use with speaker-supplied laptop (VGA cable, remote, and instructions for operation are in the room)
35mm slide projector
VCR for recording or playback
Overhead projector
Document camera (opaque projector)
The Rome Room and the Talbot Library are also equipped with video-teleconferencing (VTC) equipment.
Use of the VTC equipment requires either an A/V Technician for setup, or that the end-user has demonstrated ability to properly use the equipment. Training is available upon request.
