BME Design Teams Make Headlines

We concluded the 2005-06 academic year with great progress at the BME Design Team Course front. During the last one year we have been extremely successful and below are some of the major accomplishments . . .

  1. Received 39 translation/research based medical device development projects covering disciplines like cardiology, ophthalmology, emergency medicine, cardiac surgery, tissue engineering etc…
  2. Funding from Guidant Foundation & Dr. Joseph Smith, Vice President & Chief Medical Officer, Guidant
  3. Organized BME Design Day which was widely received and well attended (~150 attendees)
  4. Filed 3 Provisional patent applications based on student design team projects
  5. And extensive media coverage
