Hopkins BME teams place 1-2-3 at MoshPit

The Hopkins BME winning streak at the Greater Baltimore Technology Council MoshPit! business plan competition is going unabated. Out of 104 business plans submitted by teams from colleges all over Maryland, teams from Hopkins BME swept the top three prizes.

The BME teams, their projects and prizes:

First Prize: $10,000

SurgyTech: Innovative bowel packing device to simplify abdominal laparotomies

Team: Gayathree Murugappan, Joshua Liu, Mike Bisogno, Kevin Yeh, Vicki Zhou, Brian Liu

Second Prize: $7,500

Synthex Technologies: Research robot for gel extraction

Team: Judy Qiu, Matt Rubashkin, Co-founders; Daniel Merzel

Third Prize $5,000

Radiogenic Therapeutics: MultiMark™ offers a novel, minimally invasive way for implanting high visibility markers into tumors to allow precise targeting of EBRT

Team: Juinting Chiang, Brian His, Ian Lee, Linmiao Xu
