ILO Services

For Industry

  1. Arrange and facilitate one-on-one meetings with specific faculty members to:
    • Monitor new emerging technologies in the biomedical area and explore their impact in the medical field
    • Discuss faculty research projects of interest to the company
    • Seek faculty advice on specific company research projects through research collaborations and consulting
  2. Introduce students in the department to:
    • Recruit for internships and full-time jobs
    • Seek avenues for sponsoring undergraduate and graduate research and design projects
    • Increase company visibility at the University
  3. Coordinate ongoing and future activities. organized by University affiliated offices such as Johns Hopkins Technology Transfer, or the Career Center.
  4. Keep the industry members informed about ongoing research projects of interest.

For Faculty

  1. Introduce faculty to industry members.
  2. Assist faculty in entrepreneurial endeavors by providing mentoring in the startup process and guidance to local resources for early stage companies.
  3. Assist faculty in identifying companies seeking to sponsor research projects.
  4. Seek companies interested in building collaborative relationships with faculty research work.

For Students

  1. Introduce students to recruiting officials in companies of interest.
  2. Provide internship and full-time employment opportunities.
  3. Seek sponsors and funding for design projects.
  4. Introduce BME and JHU alumni interested in recruiting students from the department.
  5. Help students in business plan projects.
  6. Connect students with companies interested in regard to ongoing research projects and startup process.
  7. Organize the BME Career Path Seminar series.
