Industrial Liaison Office
History
The Industrial Liaison Office (ILO) at the Whitaker Biomedical Engineering Institute was established in the fall 2002, making it the first academic department at the Johns Hopkins University to have such a unique office to facilitate relationships with the life science industry. The office was established to meet the growing demands of faculty members to facilitate translational research projects with the industry and help students in industrial job placements.
Mission
The mission of the Industrial Liaison Office (ILO) is to build and nurture collaborative relationships between the biomedical engineering department (BME) and the life science industry.
The ILO facilitates collaboration between BME faculty, post-docs, graduate and undergraduate students, and the life science industry to generate cutting-edge translational research work in bioengineering and biomedicine.
