The Whitaker Biomedical Engineering Institute is not merely a great place to study and learn, it is also a great place to work and learn. The intellectually stimulating environment and the nurturing spirit of collegiality that extends throughout the Institute attracts stellar candidates to our postdoctoral, research, tenured and tenure-track positions.

Over time we have found that 57% of JHU BME graduates go into teaching or research, one percent move on to practice medicine, and a total of approximate 30 percent go on to research and development areas of industry. To that end we maintain an Industrial Liaison Office to foster greater interaction between our biomedical engineering program and industry. We believe some of the most exciting opportunities of the future will result from this collaboration.
