BME PHD STUDENT HANDBOOK

The purpose of this handbook is to provide students and faculty with an up-to-date and authoritative source of information on the doctoral program in Biomedical Engineering at Johns Hopkins. Graduate education is a complicated endeavor. The University and the Program have their rules and regulations. In addition, there are a great many, less formal "ins and outs" which, unless they are made explicit, can cost time and energy.

We hope that this handbook discusses nearly every facet of the Program and that only rarely will you need to seek information elsewhere. On the other hand, we hope that students will not hesitate to speak with the program director, faculty advisors, Allen Strong or Hong Lan when they have problems. For those students on the School of Medicine campus with administrative questions, Allen Strong is the person to contact and for those students on the Homewood Campus, Hong Lan is the person to contact.  Suggestions for additions and improvements to the handbook will be greeted with enthusiasm by the program director's office.
