Dr. Steven Salzberg named Bloomberg Distinguished Professor

Computational biologist, Steven Salzberg, has joined the prestigious ranks of honorees receiving a Bloomberg Distinguished Professorship. Salzberg, a professor in the Department of Biomedical Engineering and Director of the Center for Computational Biology, was one of four Johns Hopkins faculty appointed a Bloomberg Distinguished Professorship in 2015. The endowed professorships are supported by a $350 million gift to the university by Johns Hopkins alumnus and former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg. The funds are used to develop and support new leaders and collaborative scholars who specialization in cross-disciplinary research and education initiatives in the areas of individual and global health care.
